Canandaigua Rotary / Center for Dispute Settlement
Mediation Training Scholarship
Canandaigua Rotary Club has partnered with the Center for Dispute Settlement to make available scholarships for residents of Ontario county who are 18 or older and interested in taking Mediation Training
Mediation is a process where a neutral and specially trained individual works with parties to find a solution that is acceptable to each party. One of Rotary International’s missions is peaceful resolution to conflicts. On a local level the Canandaigua Rotary Club Board approved a mediator training scholarship to a student in need to help in the peaceful resolution arena.
Mediator training is held once or twice a year in Monroe and/or surrounding counties, and is conducted by a Certified Mediation Trainer. Individuals who take the training and receive the $400 scholarship must agree to volunteer their mediation services for 1 year, to include at least 3 mediation sessions.
