Program:
Craig Howard, Director at the VA (one of our newest members), presented a format that opened the floor to any questions anyone had about the VA Medical Center.  Craig shared that although he is not a Veteran, he has spent 31 years working with the VA.  He became director of the local VA Medical Center in 2005.  The VA has 800+ employees and a budget of $100 million.  10% of the budget is used for pharmaceuticals!  Craig answered many questions from the audience including those about the national suicide prevention hot line located on-site (over 100 employees and 1000 calls a day), how many building are occupied on the site (all but one), what else is on-site besides VA services (CA Academy & a Montessori School), what will be done with the golf course (possible temporary construction site), to questions about female veterans and future additions to the Medical Center.  If anyone has any specific questions about the VA, Craig is more than willing to speak one on one with you.
Happy Dollars:

There were no fines so President Jack asked for any Happy Dollars, which were as follows:

Bruce Kennedy for showing up at Steamboat Landing on 2/11 when there was no noon meeting scheduled.  (Apparently about 15 people showed up, but Bruce is the only one who admitted his guilt.)

Phil Esce for just being glad to be here!!

Ed Varno for having the Lincoln Traveling Show at the Ontario County Historical Society.

Dave Reid for a trip to Orlando, Fl and then to Austin, Tx. where he saw his youngest grandchild.

Paula Triplett for participation in 'Bowl For The Cure' held at Roseland Bowl; and a special thank you to President Jack for hosting the event.

Don O'neil for being thankful no one noticed his cell phone had rung twice during the meeting.

50/50 - Joker Draw:
Jackpot was $63 - Andy Harkness drew the Ace of Hearts, $15 was won by Mark Vahey
Thought for the Day:
"Look forward to tomorrow because only then you will be able to fix the mistakes you made today.  With every sunrise rises a new opportunity to succeed."
