Special Presentation- Rotary 4-Way Test Vocational Award-Becky Loy-a neuro-scientist of national reputation and the driving force for Rotary's presence in Tibet. Congrats, Becky. We are proud of you.

The program for June 17.- Ms. Debbie Snyder R.N.- Haiti as a Mission.

Ms. Snyder(mother of our own Bob Fuller) spent 11 days in Haiti along with her husband, Arlen Snyder M.D., an orthopedic surgeon. They were located in Leoghuine, where the center of the earthquake occured. Through photos and her commentary, this Rotary club was stunned at the level of destruction that had occured there. As they walked the streets that Sunday on their arrival, they observed the churches were filled, bursting at the seams on Easter Sunday.

Their medical work was very basic; i.e., reminding this reporter back to the days of our own Civil War. They had to make do with what they had. They had to improvise, losing power constantly on and off every day. They hired their own interpreter to speed and facilitate their medial work. 80% of the injuries involved the extremities. Infection was rampant. Supplies were very limited.

This mission trip was rewarding medically, but exhausting due to temperatures at 100 degrees, and the very long hours. Equally exhausting was the cultural shock of doing some much with so little.

Joker Draw- Chuck Zanghi- Sorry, Chuck. You never know.

The cash went to our own Tia.

Thought for the day-" The fragrance of flowers spreads only in the direction of the wind. But the goodness of a person spreads in all directions."

Thanks, Jack Moran, for a great year. The Rotary Club of Canandaigua.
