Upcoming Dates: Wed Sept. 30 is the Eastern Cities Dinner, April 23-25 is

Fines:

Chris Leveritt was excited about scoring 90 at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course as guest with his wife in the Hudson Valley. He blushed as he awarded the club a "pit pass" for his trip. Shucks, Chris.

Program notes:

Carla Canjar and Ed Ninestein spoke about their company Casella Waste Management's administration of County Landfill. Some salient points noted:

1) Landfill is owned by Ontario County, Casella manages the site and hires employees to run the site. They paid and up-front fee of $15 million to County for 25 year lease. they purchased equipment at outset to the tune of 1.7 million and also built a new recycling center for $13 million that reverts to Ontario County at the end of the Lease.

2) Did you know that it costs $700,000 per acre to build a landfill. The site that they occupy must have a liner system made of synthetic plastic beneath to shield the clay. At the end of the 25 year lease the site will be managed by Casella to be sure that ground water remains uncontaminated.

3) Innovative Energy Systems uses 7 Cat Diesel Engines fueled by Natural Landfill gas. Each produces 800 Kwh to heat 1200-1500 Homes monthly.

50/50 results:
Jack Pot is at $418. Tom Sheavly drew a spade from the deck. Mark Vahey accepted $20 with glee.
