Kelly Smith, Mary Eckdahl: tireless advisors to the Interact Club helped grow the Club from 6 to 40; students do numerous projects helping at Ronald McDonald House, collecting used bicycles, taking the plunge in icy waters for Special Olympics, raising money for water projects in foreign countries. Some Interact members are flanked by Non-Rotarian Award recipients Mary Eckdahl and Kelly Smith. Isaac Schorr, Student of Excellence Award recipant, was involved in lacrosse soccer, the National Honor Society, and was the voice of the students helping in the process of new by-laws and constitution. Isaac is headed to Cornell to study Industrial Labor Relations. Volunteer OTY Award, Bill Fuge, was Chief Volunteer Officer at Canandaigua YMCA, serves on their board, marketing committee & 5K events; Granger Homestead; past Chair of the Canandaigua Chamber, the Economic Development Council; Civil War re-enactor; & Kiwanis Club’s ‘meatball maker.' Mary Green, always giving of herself as and since her retirement from the NYS Police. She served on the board for United Way, Camp Onseyawa, involved at the Rotary District level, past Club President, and a role model for all Rotarians. 4-Way Test Vocational Award was presented to Historian Ray Henry. He has had a life long passion for history as reflected in his many newspaper articles and his book ‘Memories of the Heart,’ and noted for his research and many barn tours and historic properties. Pictured with Ray is his wife Barb.
